In a country so vast and full of ecological and geographical diversity, it's hard to know where to start. Head to Noosa Beach, famous for its great waves, surfing and white sandy beaches. Travel along the coast in 4x4 Toyota Troop Carriers to Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world that is only accessible by ferry and four-wheel drive vehicle. Home to crystal clear lakes and lush rainforest, Fraser Island is awe-inspiring. Camp among the dunes, listening to the rhythm of the Pacific and marveling at the Southern Cross in the star-filled sky.
Travel from the white sands of the coast to the red sands of Central Australia, Alice Springs and Ayers Rock. The Outback is a vast and ancient playground. We explore all the highlights and open our minds to the mystical legends and culture of the Aborigines. Journey down desert dirt roads to find mesmerizing canyons and hidden waterholes. Hike through rainbow colored sands and swim in pristine rivers.
Past the Great Dividing Range, the desert gives way to Tropical North Queensland. An abundance of rain brings life to the forest and energy to the rivers. A short hike through the rainforest leads us to the Russell River and the thrill of miles of adrenaline pumping rapids in two-man sport rafts. We hone our paddling skills further on the coast, where we glide in sea kayaks around tropical islands and camp on deserted beaches. Back on land, hike past giant fig trees in ancient rainforest in Daintree National Park.
The Great Barrier is the most extensive reef system in the world with an astounding abundance and diversity of marine life. Aboard a fully-outfitted dive vessel we set out on a five-day voyage to explore Australia’s best dive sites. Scuba dive on the magnificent Ribbon Reefs and in the colorful Coral Sea. Participate in ongoing field studies by tracking and snorkeling with friendly and inquisitive Minke whales. As we turn back toward Cairns, you reflect on your voyage and marvel at how much you and your friends accomplished in such a short time.
